Mika Sayfurahman Selected to D2 CCA Second Team
SAN FRANCISCO - Last week, the Division 2 Conference Commissioners Association (D2 CCA) announced its 2024 NCAA Division II Women's Soccer All-West Region Teams. From Cal State East Bay, Mika Sayfurahman named to the Second Team following the 2024 season. It was the second year in a row the midfielder received an accolade from D2 CCA.
Already in 2024, Sayfurahman was named to the All-CCAA First Team. She netted a team-high seven goals and had five assists. With 25 shots on goal, she was second in the CCAA during the regular season. On September 28, Sayfurahman scored two goals in a comeback for the Pioneers toward a 2-2 draw with CSUSM. With the pair of goals, Sayfurahman would be named CCAA Offensive Player of the Week just days later. Throughout her career, she has scored 17 goals, which is tied for ninth all-time in program history.
Sayfurahman's 2024 D2 CCA award follows a 2023 D2 CCA All-West Region First Team honor.
The 2024 season was historic for the Pioneers, who had their best regular season record as a CCAA member, enough to reach the No. 2 seed in the CCAA Tournament and advancing to the CCAA Championship Match for the second time in program history.
