MEET RECAP: Men's Track & Field at Oxy Distance Carnival & Spring Break Classic
LOS ANGELES - On Saturday, the Cal State East Bay men's track & field team competed in several events during the Oxy Distance Carnival & Spring Break Classic at Jack Kemp Stadium.
Below are some of the highlights among the Pioneers during the meet.
- Che Jimenez placed third in the 400 meters with a time of 49.02 seconds.
- In the 5,000 meters, Juan Cadena ran a personal best time of 15 minutes, 25.01 seconds. In the same event, Ian Mead reached a personal record of 16:22.93.
- Amier Hollis placed third in the high jump, clearing 1.87 meters.
- Benjamin Chang won the long jump with a mark of 6.97 meters, a personal best.
- Two places behind Chang in the long jump was Michael Greco, with a mark of 6.49 meters.
- Greco also finished second in the triple jump (13.55 meters).
The next meet for the Pioneers is the West Coast Invite, which takes place on Saturday, March 15 from Cox Stadium on the campus of San Francisco State. The meet will only include track events and no field events.
