MEET RECAP: Women's Track & Field at Chico Invitational & Distance Carnival
CHICO, Calif. — The Cal State East Bay women's track and field team continued its 2025 campaign at the Chico Invitational & Distance Carnival on Friday and Saturday at University Stadium, hosted by Chico State. The Pioneers turned in several standout performances across both track and field events as they prepare for the stretch run of the regular season. East Bay finished sixth among 15 scoring teams.
Notable Track Performances

Yamilet Deniz placed seventeenth in the 1,500 meters with a time of 4 minutes, 56.17 seconds — a personal best and her second collegiate race in the event.
Notable Field Performances
- Julia Carmona won the triple jump with a mark of 11.48 meters, securing her second straight victory in the event. She also placed fifth in the long jump with a leap of 5.38 meters.
- Katarina Muellerleile cleared 2.95 meters in the pole vault to finish fourth.
- Caitlin Alexis cleared 1.50 meters in the high jump, placing sixth.
Chico State posted the highest team point total at the meet.
Up next, Cal State East Bay will conclude the 2025 regular season at the Johnny Mathis Invitational, set for April 18-19 at Cox Stadium on the campus of San Francisco State.
