Marissa Quintero Named FloCollege/CCAA Softball Pitcher of the Week
ALISO VIEJO, Calif. - For the second time in her career, Marissa Quintero has received a weekly honor from the CCAA. The sophomore right-handed pitcher on the Cal State East Bay softball team was named FloCollege/CCAA Softball Pitcher of the week after a stellar week in the circle from February 3-9.
The 9-0 Pioneers have had outstanding pitching this season, and Quintero gives evidence of the distinction. Last week, she went 2-0 and did not allow a run in 9.0 innings of action. On Saturday against Menlo, Quintero pitched five innings of a combined no-hitter. In her four appearances this season, she is 4-0 with a 0.30 ERA, 26 strikeouts in 23.0 innings pitched.
This week's CCAA Pitcher of the Week honor is the second for Quintero in her career. She received the same award in 2024 for the week of March 25-31.
The Pioneers return to the diamond this week on the road with a doubleheader on Friday at Concordia University Irvine, followed by a doubleheader on Saturday at Azusa Pacific.
