Marissa Quintero Named FloCollege/CCAA Pitcher of the Week for Second Time in 2025

ALISO VIEJO, Calif. - After 22 scoreless innings in the circle during the week of April 13-20, Cal State East Bay sophomore pitcher Marissa Quintero was named FloSports/CCAA Softball Pitcher of the week.

In two starts against Chico State, Quintero tossed 10 scoreless innings on Friday and 12 more on Saturday as the Pioneers won 1-0 in each of her starts in extra innings. She surrendered only six hits total and struck out nine. The Pioneers' 3-1 series record clinched a spot in the upcoming 2025 CCAA Softball Tournament.

Quintero has a 1.23 earned run average, lowest among qualifying CCAA pitchers and has limited opponents to a combined .182 batting average.

She also was named FloCollege/CCAA Softball Pitcher of the week for February 3-9. The Pioneers have three total CCAA Softball Pitcher of the Week awards this season.

The final regular season series is upcoming for the Pioneers as they take on No. 18 Cal State San Marcos on the road this coming Friday and Saturday. The series will likely decide who takes home the 2025 CCAA Regular Season Championship.
