HAYWARD, Calif. — Concordia University Irvine dominated Cal State East Bay men's basketball in a non-conference matchup Saturday afternoon, cruising to a 74-55 victory at Pioneer Gymnasium.
 

The Golden Eagles took control early, breaking a 7-7 tie with a decisive 12-0 run. They never looked back, building their lead to as much as 24 points and maintaining a double-digit advantage throughout the second half.

Despite a more competitive second half where Cal State East Bay outscored Concordia 36-32, the early deficit proved too much to overcome. The Pioneers showed signs of life late in the game, but the Golden Eagles' lead was insurmountable.

• For the Pioneers, Beril Kabamba led the team with 14 points, including an 8-for-9 performance from the free-throw line.
• Maxwell McCall led the Pioneers' defensive efforts with a block and two steals, while also grabbing a team-high five rebounds.
• Cal State East Bay struggled to find rhythm offensively, shooting just 37.5 percent from the field compared to Concordia's efficient 49.1 percent.
• The Pioneers' woes extended beyond shooting, as they were outrebounded 37-25 and committed 21 turnovers to Concordia's 19.

The Pioneers will look to bounce back in their CCAA opener against San Francisco State in an attempt to snap a two-game skid. The game is scheduled for Saturday, November 30, with tipoff set for 3 p.m. at The Swamp at Don Nasser Family Plaza (Main Gym) in San Francisco.
