Brangefalt and Hether Garner CCAA Honors

ALISO VIEJO, Calif. - The CCAA announced its postseason awards for men's golf on Monday following the 2023-24 season. Two members from Cal State East Bay men's golf received notable recognition, including Adam Brangefalt and Easton Hether. Brangefalt was named CCAA Freshman of the Year and Hether was named to the All-CCAA Team.

Brangefalt became the second consecutive men's golfer from Cal State East Bay to be named CCAA Freshman of the Year. His had an adjusted scoring average of 73.1 in 31 rounds played. During the spring season, he had four top-20 finished and two top-10 finishes, most notably a second place finish in the Nighthawk Invitational on March 11-12 in which the Pioneers were the team champion in. During last week's CCAA Men's Golf Championships presented by Under Armour, Brangefalt made an albatross on the 18th hole in the final round. 

Easton Hether - So. - Farifield/Rodriguez HS

Hether received a postseason honor from the CCAA for the second straight year. He is averaging a 72.0 in 2023-24. To start the fall season, Hether was tied atop the leaderboard in the Saint Martin's Bishop Invitational and the Wildcat Classic in the Pioneers' first two tournaments of 2023-24. He placed in the top-20 in 10 of 12 tournaments and top-10 in three tournaments. He was a co-recipient for CCAA Men;s Golfer of the Week following the Wildcat Invitational. In 2022-23, Hether was named CCAA Freshman of the Year and was one of two Pioneers selected as individuals to compete in the 2023 NCAA Division II South Central/West Regional. 

The Pioneers were selected to compete in the 2024 NCAA Division II Men's Golf South Central/West Regional on May 9-11 in Las Cruces, New Mexico.
