Despite 14 runs scored, Pioneers Drop 12-Inning Series Finale at CSUSM
SAN MARCOS, Calif. — Cal State East Bay baseball edged ahead multiple times and racked up 20 hits, and led by as many as nine runs, but the Pioneers dropped a heartbreaker in a 15-14, 12-inning loss to Cal State San Marcos on Sunday afternoon at Dennis A. Pugh Field in a CCAA series finale. The Cougars scored the winning run on a walk-off single in the bottom of the 12th inning, sealing a wild game that featured multiple lead changes, and a combined 35 hits and nine errors between both teams.
