The Pioneers won the CCAA Regular Season Championship last Friday and hold the No. 1 seed and automatically are in the double elimination segment of the tournament. An automatic bid is on the line in the CCAA Tournament. Earlier this week, Claire Sua-Amundson was named CCAA Coach of the Year, Marissa Quintero was named CCAA Pitcher of the Year and seven Pioneer players received All-CCAA recognition.

The Pioneers will look for a strong finish to the season after being eliminated last weekend from postseason contention. The Pioneers have qualified for the NCAA Division II Women's Golf West Regional for a fourth consecutive year. And they will look to advance to the NCAA Division II Championships for a third straight season. Last week, the Pioneers placed third in the CCAA Women's Golf Championships presented by Under Armour. Days later, Torriw Bowman was named CCAA Freshman of the Year and her, along with Jasmin Krishna and Sophia Tejeda were named All-CCAA Honorable Mention.

Cal State East Bay was awarded the No. 1 seed in the West Region and will host one of two regional pods in Hayward this week. The regional pod (West 1) will take place Thursday, May 8 to Saturday May 10.

Despite entering the tournament as the No. 1 seed, the Pioneers were eliminated in the double-elimination format.
