Men's Soccer Selected 4th in CCAA Preseason Poll; Two Pioneers on Preseason Watchlist
ALISO VIEJO, Calif. - This week, the 2025 CCAA Men's Soccer Preseason Poll was announced. Cal State East Bay was picked to finish fourth in the standings and received one first place vote among coaches in the conference.
The Pioneers appeared in the CCAA Tournament for the first time in 2024 after a sixth place regular season finish and won their opening match, 1-0 over Chico State.
Scoring the goal in the first round win was Yuto Hatayama, who is one of two Pioneers on the CCAA Preseason Watchlist. Julian Valle is also on the watchlist.
Cal Poly Pomona was picked to finish atop the standings, followed by Cal State LA, Cal State Dominguez Hills, then East Bay.
The 2025 season kicks off on Thursday, September 4 with a non-conference road match at Menlo which will be the third for the program under the direction of Mike Haswell.
