MEET RECAP: Men's Track at Mike Fanelli Track Classic and Brutus Hamilton Invitational
SAN FRANCISCO / BERKELEY, Calif. — Cal State East Bay men's track and field turned in a series of strong performances at two separate meets this weekend, competing in the Mike Fanelli Track Classic at San Francisco State's Cox Stadium and the Brutus Hamilton Invitational hosted by Cal at Edwards Stadium.
The Pioneers were represented in multiple disciplines, including standout efforts in field events and middle-distance races. Milo Greenwood highlighted Cal State East Bay's showing at the Brutus Hamilton Invitational, while the remainder of the squad competed over multiple days at the Mike Fanelli Track Classic.
Notable Track Performances
- Brevan Rohde placed seventh in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 16.42 seconds.
- Justin Gauthier recorded a personal best in the 110-meter hurdles, placing ninth in 16.56 seconds.
- Eion Daley and Kyle Byrne finished with personal bests in the the 800 meters of 1:53.45 and 1:54.81 respectively.
- Nicholas Bawardi recorded a personal best in the 1,500 meters, finishing one hundred fourth in 4:09.57.
Notable Field Performances
- Milo Greenwood placed third in the javelin throw at the Brutus Hamilton Invitational with a mark of 53.78 meters — his best as a Pioneer.
- Amier Hollis cleared 1.89 meters in the high jump to finish second.
- Calvin Hensley also cleared 1.89 meters in the high jump, earning third place and setting a personal best.
- Benjamin Chang took third place in the long jump with a mark of 6.88 meters.
- Michael Lantsov cleared 4.05 meters in the pole vault to place sixth — a personal best.
Cal State East Bay will return to action next weekend at the Chico Invitational & Distance Carnival, held April 11-12 at University Stadium on the campus of Chico State in Chico, California.
