Pioneers Close Fall with Third-Place Finish at Otter Invitational

SEASIDE, Calif. - Cal State East Bay men's golf closed out its fall season with another podium finish, placing third overall at Otter Invitational at Bayonet Golf Course. The Pioneers posted a team score of +24 (298–303–287) over three rounds, rallying with one of the lowest final rounds in the 16-team field to move up three spots secure their top-3 finish.

Leading the way for East Bay was once again Peyton Hendricks, who continued his strong form with a tie for third individually at even par (72–75–69—216). After two steady opening rounds, Hendricks caught fire on the final day, carding a three-under 69 that featured five birdies.

Easton Hether finished tied for 19th at +7 (73–74–76), turning in another strong performance.  Oscar Blomqvist carded +9 (77–76–72) to tie for 26th, rebounding in the final round with an even-par 72 that kept East Bay in contention for a top-three team spot.

Nathaniel Frink delivered a key round of two-under 70 on the final day, finishing tied for 50th (+14, 76–84–70) and helping the Pioneers record their lowest team total of the week. Adam Brangefalt tied for 60th at +17 (78–78–77) as East Bay's fifth scorer.

The Pioneers' third-round surge of 287 (-1) was one of just three team rounds under par in the entire field, helping them leap past Simon Fraser (+30) and Cal State San Marcos (+34) to secure third. Western Washington (+9) captured the team title, while Colorado State Pueblo (+20) finished runner-up. East Bay's +24 total kept them comfortably ahead of perennial CCAA rivals Chico State (+40), Cal State Monterey Bay (+41), and Stanislaus State (+47).

East Bay will return to the course for their spring season in February, finishing the fall with four top-4 finishes in four tournaments.
