Pioneer Spotlight: Jacob Hugger – Voice of the Pioneers
The 2025-26 athletic year is quickly approaching for Cal State East Bay, and with it comes 14 Pioneer teams in action with the first contest taking place on Thursday, September 4.
Just five days later, the first home event for Cal State East Bay takes place when women's soccer hosts Hawai'i Pacific on September 9 from Las Positas College. That will also be the first Pioneer event of the season to be streamed live on FloCollege.
And during the soccer match, and many more Cal State East Bay athletic events to follow, you will hear the Voice of the Pioneers, Jacob Hugger. Hugger enters his third full season on the mic covering the Pioneers and describing the action.
Hugger expressed his excitement for the upcoming season saying, "I am very excited for the start of the year and honored to be Pioneer of the Week! Going into our second year with FloSports, our broadcast producer Irving Cruz and I are ready and looking forward to building off of what we were able to accomplish with last year's broadcast and would love to have people come and check it out on FloCollege."
