Pioneer Men's Golf Earns West Region's Top Seed for NCAA Division II Regionals
INDIANAPOLIS - The NCAA announced the selections for the 2025 NCAA Division II Men's Golf Championships, as Cal State East Bay men's golf is one of 80 teams entered, as the Pioneers clinched an automatic berth in the South Central/West Regional and are the top ranked team among the West Region teams who qualified.
On May 8-10, the Pioneers will compete in field of 20 teams plus eight individual golfers in the NCAA Division II South/Central West Regional, taking place at Victoria Club in Riverside, California. Noteworthy regional field opponents include the 2024 NCAA Division II Champion, Colorado Christian in addition to six teams from the CCAA and the automatic qualifiers from the Lone Star Conference (Midwestern State) and the Pacific West Conference (Hawai'i-Hilo).
At minimum, the top three finishing teams in the regional, along with the top two golfers on the leaderboard who are not on advancing teams qualify for the 2025 NCAA Division II Men's Golf Championships in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida at PGA National Resort on May 19-23.
The Pioneers are coming off Wednesday's CCAA title win, the second in program history, by winning the CCAA Men's Golf Championships presented by Under Armour at Sandpiper Golf Club in Santa Barbara. Cooper Groshart won the conference's individual championship as well.
