GAME SUMMARY

Cal State East Bay jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning. After a walk and a fielder's choice set the stage, Luke Brown launched a two-run homer to right field, his team-leading seventh of the season.

Stanislaus State answered with two runs in the second on a sacrifice fly and an RBI triple, then erupted for four more in the third. The Warriors capitalized on a walk, a stolen base, and four straight hits, including a two-run single by Danny Murphy, to go up 6-2.

The visitors continued their offensive onslaught in the fourth, scoring four more runs — all with two outs — with Flavio Perez driving in two and Murphy adding another pair of RBIs. They extended the lead to 15-2 in the fifth, punctuated by a grand slam from Alex Solis.

The Pioneers showed fight late in the game. After a run in the fifth on a Nick Thomson double, East Bay rallied in the seventh. Amayas Lamar led off with a triple, later scoring on a sacrifice fly by Thomson. With two on and two out, Daniels drilled his sixth home run of the season over the left-field fence, trimming the deficit to 15-8.

Stanislaus State tacked on one more in the ninth, and East Bay two runners on base in the final frame but couldn't push across another run.
