"Umoja Day @ East Bay" is an event that is designed to give Black students transferring into four year institutions the opportunity to visit the Cal State East Bay Hayward campus. Students are provided an opportunity to experience a bit of the campus culture through connection with current students, faculty, and staff while learning about the resources East Bay provides for transfer students and Black students.This opportunity also allows students to meet the Black Student Success Center and Sankofa Scholars staff directly as a major part of the support system provided to Black transfer students. They will also learn about the connection between the Umoja Community and the Sankofa Scholars program which allows Black transfer students to transition into Cal State East Bay with culturally relevant support already in place.
