Cal State East Bay to Recognize Rich Sherratt for Donation on January 23
Cal State East Bay Athletics is proud to recognize the remarkable achievements of our distinguished alumnus, 2002 Hall of Famer, generous philanthropist, and influential community leader, Mr. Rich H. Sherratt.
We are grateful for Rich's continued support, and we invite you to join us in expressing our appreciation for his significant contribution. His generous donation has made possible the installation of the new scoreboards in the Pioneer Gymnasium, an enduring symbol of his commitment to enhancing the experience for our student-athletes, staff, and fans.
Rich Sherratt, Class of 1969, had a two-year pitching record of 16-6 with a 2.80 ERA. In 1968, Sherratt appeared in 22 games (10 starts and 12 relief appearances) and compiled an impressive record of 9-2 with an ERA of 2.53. He had no wild pitches and hit only one batter in 85.1 innings during the 1968 campaign. Sherratt's best outing was a four-hit, nine-strikeout performance against UC Davis. During his two-year pitching career, Sherratt earned All-Far West Conference Honorable Mention recognition.
Rich's legacy is deeply intertwined with the history and success of our athletics program. These scoreboards serve as a tribute to his lasting impact on both the athletic department and our campus community.
The dedication ceremony for the new scoreboard will take place on Thursday, January 23, 2025, prior to the Men's Basketball game at approximately 7:15 p.m. We warmly invite all members of the Cal State East Bay community to attend and celebrate Rich's continued legacy with us.
