SANTA CRUZ, Calif. — The Cal State East Bay women's swimming team dominated their dual meet against UC Santa Cruz on Saturday, securing a convincing 174-106 victory at the UCSC Pool. The Pioneers showcased their depth and talent, claiming 12 first-place finishes in the events they entered.

The meet began and ended with strong relay performances from Cal State East Bay. Notable individual and team achievements include:

• The 200-yard medley relay team of Lily Caraway, Kylie Beaudet, Tehani Kong and Brooklyn Dressel set the tone with a winning time of 1:43.98.
• Miya French demonstrated her endurance by winning both the 1,000-yard freestyle (10:42.55) and the 500-yard freestyle (5:11.82).
• The Pioneers swept the podium in the 100-yard backstroke, with Hannah Sharp (57.83), Lily Caraway (58.03), and Taylor Kolsch (59.10) finishing 1-2-3.
• Sharp also touched first in the 200-yard backstroke (2:02.76).
• Alexia Fajardo led a 1-2 finish in the 200-yard butterfly (2:04.81), followed by teammate Reese Veron (2:08.67). Fajardo's time reached an NCAA 'B' Standard.
• Kong (23.68) and Dressel (24.03) dominated the 50-yard freestyle.
• Fajardo added another victory in the 100-yard freestyle (52.76).
• Kylie Beaudet showcased her versatility, winning both the 200-yard breaststroke (2:19.63) and the 400-yard individual medley (4:23.83). Both of Beaudet's individual wins met NCAA 'B' Standards. 
• Kong led a Pioneer sweep of the top four places in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 55.51.
• The meet concluded with Dressel, Kong, Emilie Giannini and Kali Mull winning the 400-yard freestyle relay in 3:28.21.

The Pioneers' performance demonstrates their depth and potential as they approach the end of their regular season. Their next challenge will be a double dual meet against Fresno Pacific and Simon Fraser on Saturday, January 25, at Pioneer Pool in Hayward, California. The meet is scheduled to start at 11 a.m. and will serve as Cal State East Bay's regular season finale.
