This Week in Pioneer Athletics (Oct. 30-Nov. 3)
Friday and Saturday mark the first two home meets for women's swimming in 2024-25, both against Simon Fraser. For swimming, it will be Alumni Weekend.
Also, Volleyball and Men's and Women's Soccer will look for a push toward the postseason. Both soccer teams host their final regular season home matches Friday and Sunday, while volleyball plays a pair of road matches in Southern California.
And if you want a preview of men's and women's basketball, be sure to come out to Pioneer Madness on Wednesday, October 30 at 6 p.m. inside Pioneer Gymnasium.

The Pioneers and Red Leafs will compete in two separate dual meets featuring top-25 teams. The upcoming meets are the first two home meets for the Pioneers this week. This weekend also is Alumni Weekend for women's swimming at the meets.

Morgan Keller scored the game-winner on Sunday to carry the Pioneers to a 1-0 win at Cal State Dominguez Hills to extend the Pioneers' unbeaten streak to four matches with three regular season contests remaining.
As of Wednesday, East Bay sits in a four-way tie for fifth place in the CCAA standings. The top six teams in the CCAA regular season standings qualify for the CCAA Tournament, presented by FloCollege. The opportunity for the Pioneers to qualify will become a lot clearer following Sunday's action. Stanislaus State and Sonoma State will play Wednesday which the result will change the standings before the Pioneers' match on Friday kicks off. Friday and Sunday's matches will be the final two home matches of the regular season for the Pioneers.

The Pioneers enter Friday on a three-match win streak that included a pair of four-set wins last week to climb into seventh place in the CCAA standings, just one game back of sixth place, which represents the final place to qualify for the CCAA Tournament. East Bay faces a tough test Friday at No. 22 Cal State LA. The Pioneers and Golden Eagles battled to a fifth set only for CSULA to win 3-2 on October 5. Six matches remain in the regular season for East Bay.

From Cal State East Bay, Tehani Kong was named PCSC Female Swimmer of the Week while Kali Mull was named Female Freshman Swimmer of the Week. Both competed in a pair of dual meets against Simon Fraser last week.
