Two PCSC Weekly Awards for Pioneers Women's Swimming
HAYWARD, Calif. - After last week's competition in the pool for Cal State East Bay women's swimming, two weekly awards from the PCSC were garnered by the Pioneers. Kylie Beaudet was named PCSC Female Swimmer of the Week while Alexia Fajardo was named PCSC Female Freshman of the Week for meets during the week of January 6-12.

Beaudet placed third in the 400 yard individual medley (4:33.15) and fourth in the 100 yard breaststroke (1:07.36) against San Diego State. Later in the week, the junior from Henderson, Nevada won the 200 yard individual medley on Friday against San Jose State (2:08.57) and placed 3rd in the 200 yard breaststroke (2:22.87). She capped off the week with some career
finishes, winning the 400yard individual medley with a personal best and NCAA Top 15 time of 4:23.80, which would qualify for the NCAA Championship in years past. She also won the 200 yard breaststroke with a PCSC lead time of 2:19.63 and clocked a personal best in the 200 yard freestyle of 1:54.98.
On January 7 at San Diego State, Fajardo placed fourth in the 100 yard butterfly in 56.84 seconds. On Saturday at UC Santa Cruz, she swam the 100 yard butterfly even faster, clocking in at 56.58 seconds. In the 200 yard butterfly, Fajardo placed second on Friday at San Jose State, then won the same event on Saturday in 2:04.81, which was a personal best. Also on Saturday, she won the 100 yard freestyle in 52.76 seconds.
For the second time this season, Fajardo received a weekly honor from the PCSC. She was named PCSC Female Freshman of the Week for September 22-28.
The Pioneers' next meet is the 2024-25 regular season finale, which takes place Saturday, January 25 at Pioneer Pool. East Bay hosts a double dual meet against Simon Fraser and Fresno Pacific with a start time of 11 a.m.
