Five Pioneers Garner All-CCAA Women’s Soccer Honors

ALISO VIEJO, Calif. – The 2024 All-CCAA Women's Soccer All-Conference individual awards were announced on Wednesday. Five members of the Cal State East Bay women's soccer program were named to the team, including Mika Sayfurahman (First Team), Abigail Kern (Second Team), Ashley Levi (Honorable Mention), Jaeden Nelson (Honorable Mention) and Gabriella Rodil (Honorable Mention).
 

Mika Sayfurahman – All-CCAA First Team

For Sayfurahman, it's the second consecutive year in which she was named All-CCAA First Team. In 2024, the junior midfielder scored a team-high seven goals and had five assists. With 25 shots on goal, she was second in the CCAA during the regular season. On September 28, Sayfurahman scored two goals in a comeback for the Pioneers toward a 2-2 draw with CSUSM. With the pair of goals, Sayfurahman would be named CCAA Offensive Player of the Week just days later. Throughout her career, she has scored 17 goals, which is tied for ninth all-time in program history.  
 

Abigail Kern – All-CCAA Second Team

With five goals in 2024, Kern played a crucial role in the Pioneers' seven-match unbeaten streak to finish the regular season and earn the No. 2 seed in the 2024 CCAA Tournament presented by FloCollege. During the late season push toward the postseason throughout the unbeaten streak, four of Kern's six goals on the season were scored and she added two of her three assists during that stretch. In total in the regular season, she played over 1,400 minutes on the pitch.
 

Ashley Levi – All-CCAA Honorable Mention

In her third season with the Pioneers, Levi appeared in eight matches and started five as goalkeeper. She was the winning goalkeeper in five matches and had two complete 90-min shutouts and a partial shutout. On November 1 against Chico State, the senior goalkeeper made 11 saves in route to a 2-1 win for East Bay.
 

Jaeden Nelson – All-CCAA Honorable Mention

Nelson started all 18 matches for East Bay and logged 1,583 of an available 1,620 minutes as a defender. In the seven-match unbeaten streak, she played every minute while taking charge in the back row.  On September 21, Nelson found the net for her only goal of the season in a 3-0 win over Menlo.
 

Gabriella Rodil – All-CCAA Honorable Mention

In the final three matches of the regular season, Rodil played an essential role in the Pioneer goal scoring in the team's push for the postseason. On November 1, she had two assists in a 2-1 win over Chico State. Two days later, the senior midfielder from San Francisco scored a goal in the home finale against Stanislaus State and in the final regular season match on November 7, scored what became the game-winner to clinch a postseason berth for East Bay. Rodil finished with three goals and two assists as she appeared in all 18 matches with 15 starts.
