TOURNAMENT RECAP: Women’s Golf at National Preview
BOULDER CITY, Nev. – Cal State East Bay women's golf competed in its third tournament of the fall season on Monday and Tuesday, finishing ninth among 14 teams at Boulder Creek Golf Course. The field of teams was extremely competitive with seven top-25 teams and three others receiving votes nationally.
- With the Pioneers' lowest score to finish the tournament was Sophia Tejeda, tying for 14th on the leaderboard at -4 (212). Highlighting her 54-hole performance was a third round score of 67 that included seven birdies. Overall, Tejeda had 13 birdies and one eagle during the tournament.
- Torrie Bowman finished in a 28th place tie on the leaderboard at +2 (218), highlighted by a second round score of 69 with six birdies in the round.
- Climbing 13 spots up the leaderboard on Tuesday was Jasmin Krishna, carding a 71 in the round.
Cal State East Bay head coach Alan Sue following the tournament:
"This week was a much better tournament for the ladies. We got to see some of the potential of this team in some single rounds. We still have a lot to learn and some work on out short games and putting collectively. When we sharpen these tools, we will contend."
Cal State San Marcos was the team champion of the National Preview and Arnie Taguines from UT Tyler was the tournament medalist finishing at -16 (200).
Only two tournaments remain for the Pioneers in fall 2024, both of which are in Hawaii. They will compete in the Dennis Rose Intercollegiate and HPU Sharks Shootout during the week of October 21.

- Pioneer Spotlight: Alan SueOf all head coaches currently at Cal State East Bay, Alan Sue has held such a role the longest among the group as he is in the 20th year in that role, and 25th year coaching overall with the Pioneers. Overseeing men's and women's golf, Sue has seen so much success with both teams, including 17 tournament championships as an NCAA Division II member, back-to-back appearances by the women's golf program in the NCAA Division II Championships and conference championships in the CalPac and CCAA just to name a few.

This tournament marked the final event of the Pioneers' Fall 2024 season.
- TOURNAMENT RECAP: Women's Golf at Dennis Rose IntercollegiateWAIKOLOA VILLAGE, Hawaii — Cal State East Bay's women's golf team secured a fifth-place finish out of 15 teams at the Dennis Rose Intercollegiate tournament, which concluded Tuesday at the Village Course at Waikoloa. The two-day event, played over 36 holes on the par 72, 6,112-yard course, saw the Pioneers deliver a consistent performance across their lineup.
