MEET RECAP: Men's Track & Field Opens 2025 Season at Cal All-Comers Meet
BERKELEY, Calif. - The Cal State East Bay men's track and field team delivered multiple impressive performances at the Cal All Comers meet held Saturday at Edwards Stadium. The Pioneers opened the 2025 season by securing multiple top-three finishes and setting personal records in both track and field disciplines.

NOTABLE TRACK PERFORMANCES |
- Cole McKain showcased his versatility in middle-distance events. The senior runner finished second in the 1,500 meters with a time of 4 minutes, 0.34 seconds. He also set a personal record in the 800 meters, clocking 1:57.74.
- The 4x400 meter relay team of Kyle Byrne, John Funderburg, Eion Daley, and Nicholas Bawardi secured victory with a time of 3:29.68.

NOTABLE FIELD PERFORMANCES |
- Benjamin Chang leaped to a second-place finish in the long jump with a personal best mark of 6.83 meters.
- Michael Greco secured second place in the triple jump with a mark of 13.44 meters, followed closely by Al'vonn Johnson in third at 12.38 meters.
- Newcomer Milo Greenwood impressed in his Pioneer debut, claiming second place in the javelin throw with a 50.61-meter mark.
- Edgar Martinez set a new personal best in the hammer throw with a mark of 40.10 meters.
- Michael Lantsov cleared 3.95 meters in the pole vault, establishing a new personal record.

The Cal State East Bay men's track and field team will travel to Los Angeles, California, for the Oxy Distance Carnival and Spring Break Classic. The meet is scheduled for Saturday, March 8, at Jack Kemp Stadium on the campus of Occidental College.
