Fajardo, Clemens Earn PCSC Weekly Honors after Dominant Slug Shootout

HAYWARD, Calif. — Cal State East Bay women's swimming continued its strong early-season momentum as Lexi Fajardo and Maggie Clemens each took home Pacific Collegiate Swim Conference (PCSC) weekly awards following standout performances at the Slug Shootout in Santa Cruz.

Fajardo, a Santa Cruz native, was named PCSC Female Swimmer of the Week after a sensational meet. The junior swept all three butterfly events, winning the 50 Fly (26.93), 100 Fly (57.45), and 200 Fly (2:08.77) in commanding fashion. She also played a pivotal role on East Bay's winning 400 Medley Relay (3:54.51), where her 57.36 butterfly split helped the Pioneers secure victory. Fajardo's performances now lead the PCSC rankings in both the 100 Fly and 200 Fly.

Clemens earned PCSC Female Freshman of the Week honors after a breakout showing in the distance freestyle events. The first-year standout dominated the distance races, sweeping the 500 Free (5:11.80), 1000 Free (10:36.34), and 1650 Free (17:52.71), all by substantial margins. Each of her three times currently stands atop the PCSC leaderboard.

The Pioneers are off next week before returning to the pool on October 24 for a Double Duel Meet hosted by Fresno State.
