MEET RECAP: Cal State East Bay Women's Track & Field at West Coast Relays

CLOVIS, Calif. — The Cal State East Bay women's track and field team turned in a collection of strong individual efforts Saturday at the West Coast Relays, hosted by Fresno State at Veterans Memorial Stadium. Competing against a range of NCAA Division I, II and NAIA programs, the Pioneers notched multiple top-10 finishes and personal bests.

Track Performances:

  • Hope Brookins clocked a personal record in the 1,500 meters, finishing in 4 minutes, 50.66 seconds.
  • Madison Armstrong recorded a personal-best time of 5:48.08 seconds in the 1,500 meters.
  • Miranda Salcedo set a personal record in the 800 meters, running a time of 2:35.51.

Field Performances:

  • Julia Carmona placed eighth in the triple jump with a mark of 10.69 meters.
  • Caitlin Alexis cleared her Pioneer personal record of 1.55 meters in the high jump to finish ninth.

Up next, Cal State East Bay returns to action at the Mike Fanelli Track Classic, held April 3–5 at Cox Stadium on the campus of San Francisco State University.
