MEET RECAP: Women's Track & Field at Mike Fanelli Track Classic and Stanford Invitational

SAN FRANCISCO/STANFORD, Calif. – Cal State East Bay women's track & field wrapped up competition at the Mike Fanelli Track Classic and Stanford Invitational with solid performances highlighted by multiple personal bests and a top finish in the field events. Below are the more notable performances among the Pioneers throughout both meets. 

  • Julia Carmona won the triple jump with a mark of 11.12 meters. She also finished second in the long jump, marking 5.36 meters.
  • Madison Gomez and Hope Brookins reached personal best times in the 800 meters of 2:22.14 and 2:23.71 respectively.
  • Brookins also achieved a personal record in the 1,500 meters of 4:48.34.
  • Angelique Martinez finished a personal-best time in the 5,000 meters at 18:10.73.
  • At the Stanford Invitational, Jenna Rodriguez was the lone representative for the Pioneers, finishing fifth in Section 6 of the 800 meters with a time of 2:12.93.

The Pioneers continue their spring campaign next weekend at the Chico Invitational & Distance Carnival, scheduled for April 11-12 at University Stadium on the campus of Chico State in Chico, Calif.
