MEET RECAP: Women’s Track at West Coast Invite

SAN FRANCISCO – In a meet that featured primarily running events, the Cal State East Bay women's track & field team competed in the West Coast Invite at Cox Stadium on Saturday. The Pioneers finished second in team scoring.

  • Destini Clinton placed second in the 100 meters with a personal best time of 12.93 seconds.
  • Appearing in her first collegiate sprinting event, Julia Carmona finished fourth in the 200 meters, clocking at 26.53 seconds.
  • Placing sixth in the 800 meters was Rachael Simpson, who lowered her time by nearly 10 seconds from her previous entry in the event with a time of 2:25.
  • Madison Gomez has regularly been entered in the 1,500 meters throughout her career. And on Saturday, she reached her personal best time of 4:44.89 with her sixth place finish.
  • The relay team of Simryn Parikh, Nelly Isidro, Victoria Hyatt and Jenna Rodriguez placed second in the 4x400 meter relay in 4:00.79 seconds.

The Pioneers' next meet takes place March 20-21 at Hornet Stadium for the Hornet Invitational hosted by Sacramento State.
