MEET RECAP: Women's Track & Field at Oxy Distance Carnival and Spring Break Classic
LOS ANGELES - On Saturday, Cal State East Bay women's track & field participated in the Oxy Distance Carnival & Spring Break Classic at Jack Kemp Stadium.
The most notable highlight among the Pioneer performances on Saturday was from Jenna Rodriguez, who placed third in the 800 meters for a personal best time of 2 minutes, 10.54 seconds. Her time of 2:10.54 also met an NCAA Division II Provisional Standard.
Below are other highlights from the meet by East Bay.
- Madison Gomez had her fastest career finish in the 5,000 meters of 17:58.85.
- Also in the 5.000 meters, Evelyn Zambrano-Montemayor had her career low time, less than 20 minutes in precisely 19:53.80.
- In the long jump, Julia Carmona had a second place mark of 5.45 meters and a fourth place finish in the triple jump of 11.17 meters.
The next meet for the Pioneers will only include track events. On Saturday, March 15, East Bay will compete at Cox Stadium on the campus of San Francisco State in the West Coast Invite.
