DAY FOUR RECAP: Kong Sets Another New Pioneer Record at NCAA Championships; 200 yard freestyle team competes
GENEVA, Ohio – The 2024 NCAA Division II Swimming & Diving Championships resumed Friday from SPIRE Institute Aquatics Center. A new Pioneer record was set by Tehani Kong in the 200 yard butterfly and the 200 yard freestyle relay team took to the pool for Cal State East Bay.
- Kong set a new Pioneer record in the prelims of the 200 yard butterfly with a time of two minutes, 4.03 seconds. The previous mark was held by Victoria Zukeran, which was 2:04.14.
- The 200 yard freestyle relay team for Cal State East Bay, that included Brooklyn Dressel, Delaney Carlson, Olivia Parham and Kong placed 15th in the event, with a finish of 1:33.59.
The final day of the 2024 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships takes place Saturday, as the Pioneers have entries in the 100 yard freestyle, 200 yard breaststroke and 400 yard freestyle relay.
