Morgan Pearson named CCAA Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week
ALISO VIEJO, Calif. - The CCAA announced its weekly awards for women's soccer on Tuesday. Named Offensive Player of the Week was Cal State East Bay junior Morgan Pearson.
In the Pioneers' home opener last Thursday with Cal State East Bay trailing by a goal, Pearson scored the equalizer in the 23rd minute, as the Pioneers eventually won 3-1 over UC Merced.
Two nights later at Pioneer Stadium, Pearson assisted on the first goal of the match (headed in by Mika Sayfurahman) in the 35th minute. And in the 59th minute, Pearson drew a foul in the box and converted a penalty kick putting the Pioneers ahead 2-0 over Menlo in what beame a 3-0 shutout.
Pearson combined for two goals and an assist during the week with six shots (four on frame).
The Pioneers return to action on Saturday, September 28 against Cal State San Marcos for a non-conference home match that starts at 4:30 p.m. with the Senior Day Ceremony to take place prior to the match.
