Pioneer Spotlight: Jacob Hugger – Voice of the Pioneers
The 2025-26 athletic year is quickly approaching for Cal State East Bay, and with it comes 14 Pioneer teams in action with the first contest taking place on Thursday, September 4.
Just five days later, the first home event for Cal State East Bay takes place when women's soccer hosts Hawai'i Pacific on September 9 from Las Positas College. That will also be the first Pioneer event of the season to be streamed live on FloCollege.
And during the soccer match, and many more Cal State East Bay athletic events to follow, you will hear the Voice of the Pioneers, Jacob Hugger. Hugger enters his third full season on the mic covering the Pioneers and describing the action.
Hugger expressed his excitement for the upcoming season saying, "I am very excited for the start of the year and honored to be Pioneer of the Week! Going into our second year with FloSports, our broadcast producer Irving Cruz and I are ready and looking forward to building off of what we were able to accomplish with last year's broadcast and would love to have people come and check it out on FloCollege."

- You can catch a majority of Pioneer home events for the institution's 14 sponsored sports on FloCollege starting with the women's soccer home opener on September 9.
- In addition to the regular season coverage of the Pioneers, Hugger will also be the voice of the 2026 CCAA Golf Championships sponsored by Visit Stockton in April, and the 2026 CCAA Softball Tournament presented by FloCollege in May.
FloSports (parent company of FloCollege) and the CCAA enter the second year of multi-year media rights agreement that includes coverage from the 12 institutions in the conference.
