TOURNAMENT RECAP: Women's Golf at WT Desert Invite
TUCSON, Ariz. - The Cal State East Bay women's golf team, ranked No. 9 in the NCAA Division II West Region, competed Monday and Tuesday in the WT Desert Invite at The Lodge at Ventana Canyon. The Pioneers finished in a tie for seventh place among the 19 teams entered in the tournament.
- Sophia Tejeda was the lowest scorer among the Pioneers, finishing 16th on the leaderboard at 15-over-par 159 (77-82). Tejeda had the best single round among the Pioneers with a 77 in the first round.
- In 26th on the leaderboard, only two strokes behind Tejeda was Jasmin Krishna, at 17-over-par 161 (78-83).
- Carlota Eroles and Makena Ebster (individual golfer) tied for 27th on the leaderboard at 18-over-par.
St. Mary's (Texas) was the team champion of the WT Desert Invite. The individual medalist atop the leaderboard was Avery Foster from Sonoma State, finishing 8-over-par 152.
Only one more regular season tournament for 2024-25 remains for the Pioneers. The team will finish the regular season at the RJGA Palm Valley Classic this coming Friday and Saturday in Goodyear, Arizona at Palm Valley Golf Club.
