CERES, Calif. - The 2023 season got underway for the Cal State East Bay women's cross country team on Saturday evening at River Oaks Golf Course in the .

Among seven total teams competing in the women's 6k collegiate run, the Pioneers placed second in team scoring and second among three NCAA Division II programs.
CSUEB's fastest finish was from Kimberly Lima Pardina, who placed third overall, completing the course in 22 minutes, 11.5 seconds. Placing seventh in the 6k was Madison Gomez, with a time of 22:52.2.

- Alyssa Escay placed 14th in a time of 23:36.1.
- Multiple Pioneer runners made their debut on the course with the program and set personal records at Cal State East Bay in the process, including Jenna Rodriguez (23:59.6), Evelyn Zambrano-Montemayor (24:08.9), Karla Galvan (24:24.6), Anya Von Euw (24:43.3), Madison Armstrong (28:49.8) and Mariana Lopez-Tapia (29:15.9).
