CHAMPIONSHIP MEET RECAP: Cal State East Bay Women's Cross Country at CCAA Championships
FRESNO, Calif. - The Cal State East Bay women's cross country team secured a seventh-place finish among 11 teams at the 2024 CCAA Cross Country Championships, presented by Pollo Campero, held Friday morning at Woodward Park.
- Madison Gomez led the charge for Cal State East Bay, crossing the finish line in 23:15.4 to claim 37th place overall.
- Close behind for the Pioneers were Jenna Rodriguez (23:24.2), Hope Brookins (23:41.6), and Yamilet Deniz (23:44.6).
The individual title went to Della Molina of Chico State, who dominated the field with a winning time of 21:11.9. Chico State also claimed the team championship, securing their second consecutive CCAA Women's Cross Country title and 14th of the last 16 CCAA Championships.
The Pioneers will now set their sights on the 2024 NCAA Division II Cross Country West Regionals. The upcoming meet is scheduled for Saturday, November 9, at Amend Park in Billings, Montana, where the women will once again compete in a 6k race.
