Pioneers Selected Eighth in 2025–26 CCAA Women’s Basketball Preseason Coaches’ Poll
ALISO VIEJO, Calif. — The Cal State East Bay women's basketball team has been selected to finish eighth in the 2025–26 CCAA Preseason Coaches Poll, the conference announced Thursday. The Pioneers earned 70 points in the voting, placing them in the middle of a highly competitive field that features several returning NCAA Tournament programs.
Cal State East Bay will bring back CCAA Honorable Mention selection Taylor Eldredge who led the team in scoring at 11.1 points per game. Eldredge added 5.2 rebounds per game and averaged over two steals a game with 59 in 25 games.
The Pioneers were one of the deepest teams in the CCAA in 2024–25, ranking second in bench scoring with 21.9 points per game.
Cal Poly Pomona enters the new season as the preseason favorite after collecting 139 points and seven first-place votes. Cal State LA followed in second with 122 points and two first-place votes, while Chico State claimed the remaining three first-place votes and finished third with 116 points. Cal State San Bernardino (109) and Cal State Dominguez Hills (81) rounded out the top five, followed closely by Cal State San Marcos (79) and Cal Poly Humboldt (77) before East Bay in eighth.
The 2025–26 season tips off on Friday, Nov. 14, with the Pioneers taking on Central Washington in Arcata for part of the CCAA/GNAC Crossover hosted by Cal Poly Humboldt.
