GAME SUMMARIES
Game One: Cal State East Bay 2, CSUSB 1

In the bottom of the fifth, with a 0-0 score, two runners were in scoring position, with Ashley Reyes on third base as a pinch runner. Annelise Garcia hit an RBI ground ball to drive in Reyes and give the Pioneers a 1-0 lead.

The Coyotes had one base runner on third down to their final out. They would tie the game at 1-1 on an RBI single from Jonessa Hebreo.

With the bottom of the seventh forced, the Pioneers responded quickly. Ysabella Cortez led off with a single, then reached second after a single from Gabriela Rivera. Ashlee Toy hit a sacrifice bunt, and reached on an error. Cortez rounded third and a throw to home from the infield was too late as she scored the walk-off run for a 2-1 win.

The Pioneers won their second straight win on a walk-off run.

Marissa Quintero improved to 10-0 with a complete game win allowing no earned runs and striking out five.

Game Two: CSUSB 5, Cal State East Bay 4

Bri Goris hit a solo home run in the top of the second to give CSUSB a 1-0 lead.

The Pioneers tied the game at 1-1 in the bottom of the fourth on a sacrifice fly RBI hit by Jeslyn Cuellar, as the tying run was scored by Izzy Reyes.

The Coyotes broke the tie in the top of the sixth on a two-run home run from Teriese Tosi for a 3-1 lead.

Trailing by two runs, East Bay had back-to-back-to-back RBI singles in the bottom of the sixth from Cortez, Luda Gumataotao and Rivera to put the Pioneers up 4-3 heading into the seventh inning.

However, the Coyotes answered in the top of the ninth. Shannon Galliano tripled in the tying run, and would later score the go-ahead run that resulted from an error as CSUSB led 5-4.

East Bay threatened in the bottom of the ninth. With one out, Marissa Farias singled, then Mariah Ayala doubled as she represented the winning run at second base. However, the Coyotes retired the next two batters to win 5-4.
