Pioneer Softball Splits Friday Doubleheader; Clinches CCAA Tournament Berth
Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 HAYWARD, Calif. – Cal State East Bay softball clinched a CCAA Tournament berth on Friday with after the combination of a win and two losses by Cal Poly Humboldt. The Pioneers won the first game of the series against Stanislaus State, 4-3 and lost the later game, 5-4. The tournament berth is the second in program history for the CCAA Tournament.

Game One – Cal State East Bay 4, Stanislaus State 3
After two scoreless innings, the Warriors took a 1-0 lead on an RBI double from Mikaela Ferreira.
In the bottom of the third, Gabriela Rivera led off with a double, then Annelise Garcia launched her 10th home run of the season for a 2-1 lead for the Pioneers.
With a runner on base in the bottom of the sixth, Kyana Elder hit her second home run of the season, as Cal State East Bay led 4-1.
The Warriors were down to their last out with a runner on base in the top of the seventh inning. Ferreira and Karli Dalbianco hit back-to-back doubles, adding a pair of runs for Stanislaus State. Following Dalbianco's double, a walk and a single loaded the bases. However, a groundout to shortstop closed the game as the Pioneers won the series opener, 4-3.
- In the circle, Marissa Quintero pitched 6.2 innings for the win to improve to 15-8. She struck out four batters.
- Savannah Barchus picked up her second save of the season.
- Elder and Garcia had two RBIs each.
In the bottom of the first inning, Jeslyn Cuellar hit an RBI double as Ashlee Toy scored to give the Pioneers a 1-0 lead.
The Warriors tied the game in the top of the second on a solo home run by Sasha Martello and later in the inning, took a 2-1 lead on an RBI single by Katie Thornsberry. Two more runs for the Warriors were added in the third inning on a two-run double from Dalbianco.
With two outs and two runners in scoring position in the bottom of the fourth, a dropped fly ball hit by Adriana Martinez allowed Garcia and Kylie Coelho to score. Later in the inning with the bases loaded, Sarissa Block drew a walk, as Harley Acosta scored the tying run as a pinch runner, as the game was even at 4-4.
Faith Erb hit an infield RBI single in the top of the sixth as Stanislaus State took a 5-4 lead. The Pioneers would not score for the rest of the game as Stanislaus State won game two.
- Guellar and Garcia each had two hits. Both of Garcia's hits were doubles.
The Pioneers ultimately clinched a CCAA Tournament berth after Cal Poly Humboldt lost both games on Friday to Cal State San Bernardino. It will be the first appearance for CSUEB in the CCAA Tournament since 2022.

The final regular season doubleheader takes place Saturday from Pioneer Softball Field when the Pioneers host Stanislaus State with game one scheduled for noon. Before the doubleheader, the Senior Day Ceremony takes place.
