Ashlee Toy Earns FloSports/CCAA Pitcher of the Week Honor
ALISO VIEJO, Calif. - The CCAA announced its weekly honors on Monday for softball action from March 17-23. For the second time in her career, Cal State East Bay left-handed pitcher Ashlee Toy was named FloSports/CCAA Pitcher of the Week.
In 17.2 innings pitched, Toy did not allow a run, struck out 12 and only allowed four hits. As the Pioneers went 3-1 in a conference series at Cal Poly Humboldt, Toy was the winning pitcher in all three victories for East Bay.
Highlighting her three wins was a seven-inning no-hitter on Thursday (2-0 win for the Pioneers. Toy also pitched a complete game shutout on Saturday and pitched 3.2 innings of relief work in Saturday's first game which was a 5-4 win for East Bay in nine innings.
Toy has a conference-low 0.86 earned run average among qualifying pitchers with an 11-2 record on the season. She is currently on a streak of 19.1 scoreless innings pitched.
Toy's first CCAA Pitcher of the Week award was after the opening week of the 2024 season.
The 24-5 Pioneers host a CCAA home series against Stanislaus State starting Friday.
