Quintero Receives Third FloCollege/CCAA Pitcher of the Week Honor in 2025 to Finish Regular Season
ALISO VIEJO, Calif. - As the 2025 regular season for softball in the CCAA has concluded, the season's final weekly awards were announced on Monday by the conference office. For the third time this season, and the second time in as many weeks, Marissa Quintero has been named FloCollege/CCAA Pitcher of the Week for her performances in the circle from April 21-27.
After the Pioneers clinched the 2025 CCAA Regular Season Championship with a game one win on Saturday, three games remained for the Pioneers. And with Quintero appearing in the circle for each of the remaining games, the Pioneers were not done. On Saturday in a no-decision, Quintero pitched seven innings allowing one run. She carried her streak of 22 scoreless innings and added five more to the streak until the sixth inning. As a reliever in Saturday's first game, the sophomore right-handed pitcher picked up the win with a pair of scoreless innings for the win. And in season finale, she earned the victory in a complete game to finish the regular season qith an 18-3 record and a 1.20 earned run average, lowest in the CCAA.
In total for the final week of the regular season, she pitched 15 innings for a 2-0 record, allowing two runs and striking out 15.
Quintero's weekly honor from the CCAA was the third of its kind for her. She received the FloCollege/CCAA Pitcher of the Week award for February 3-9 and last week, April 14-20. It was Quintero's fourth CCAA Pitcher of the Week award in her career.
The Pioneers, after clinching the regular season CCAA title, have earned the No. 1 seed in the upcoming CCAA Tournament and have a bye. They will play Thursday at 10:30 a.m. against the lowest remaining seed following Wednesday's single elimination round. The 2025 CCAA Softball Tournament presented by FloCollege takes place this coming Wednesday through Saturday at Seawolf Softball Field on the campus of Sonoma State in Rohnert Park.
