MEET RECAP: Men’s Track & Field at Hornet Invitational
SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The Cal State East Bay men's track & field team was entered in several events at the Hornet Invitational which took place over the course of Friday and Saturday at Hornet Stadium on the campus of Sacramento State.
Below are some notable performances among the Pioneers at the meet.
- Justin Gauthier ran his fastest personal time in the 100 meters of 11.78 seconds.
- Already clocking in under 50 seconds before the most recent meet, Che Jimenez ran his personal best time in the 400 meters of 48.79 seconds.
- Dapri Smith placed third in the high jump, clearing 1.87 meters. Calvin Hensley and Amier Hollis also cleared 1.87 meters, but Smith placed ahead of them by clearing the height on first attempt.
- With his best collegiate pole vault mark was Michael Lantsov, clearing 4.03 meters for sixth place.
- Edgar Martinez had his longest Pioneer marks in the shot put (11.33 meters) and hammer throw (41.25 meters).
The Pioneers return to action for the West Coast Relays, hosted by Fresno State, which takes place next Friday (Hammer Throw only at Warmerdam Field (Fresno State University)) and Saturday (all other events at Veterans Memorial Coliseum (Buchanan HS)).
