DAY TWO RECAP: Men’s Track & Field at CCAA Championships
TURLOCK, Calif. – The 2024 CCAA Track & Field Championships continued Friday at Al Brenda Track at Warrior Stadium. Cal State East Bay men's track & field competed in multiple events. Below are highlights from Friday's action for the Pioneers, including a third overall finish to wrap up Friday's action.
- Placing third in the 3000 meter steeplechase, earning a spot on the podium was Matthew Morgon with an personal best finish of nine minutes, 29.88 seconds.
- With a time of 4:03.80 in the 1,500 meter prelims, Aidan Singh qualified for Saturday's finals.
- Justin Gauthier competed in the final five events of the decathlon, as he placed seventh overall. His best place of Friday's decathlon events was second in the 1,500 meters, which was the final decathlon event.
The final day of the CCAA Track & Field Championships take place Saturday in Turlock. Cal State East Bay will have entries in the triple jump, javelin and high jump for field events. Among Saturday's track events, the Pioneers are entered or advanced to the 1,500 meters, 5,000 meters and the 4x400 meter relay.
