MEET RECAP: Men's Track & Field at West Coast Relays

FRESNO/CLOVIS, Calif. — Cal State East Bay men's track and field turned in a series of strong performances at the West Coast Relays this weekend, competing at Warmerdam Field on Friday for the hammer throw and Veterans Memorial Stadium for all other events on Saturday. The Pioneers saw several top finishes, highlighted by a victory in the long jump and multiple personal records, as they continued to build momentum through the outdoor season.

Notable Track Performances

  • Che Jimenez placed third in the 400 meters with a time of 48.82 seconds, marking his third top-three finish in the event this season.
  • Brevan Rohde ran a personal-best 52.19 seconds in the 400 meters, his fastest time as a Pioneer.
  • Amier Hollis set a personal best in the 110 meter hurdles, clocking in at 17.40 seconds.

Notable Field Performances

  • Benjamin Chang won the long jump with a mark of 7.19 meters, a personal best.
  • Dapri Smith tied for third place in the high jump, clearing 1.93 meters for a personal best.
  • Calvin Hensley tied for sixth in the high jump, clearing 1.88 meters, also a personal best.
  • Milo Greenwood placed sixth in the javelin throw with a mark of 51.92 meters, a personal best as a Pioneer.
  • Edgar Martinez threw a personal-best 41.79 meters in the hammer throw.

Cal State East Bay will return to action next week at the Mike Fanelli Track Classic, hosted by San Francisco State. The three-day meet takes place April 3–5 at Cox Stadium on the SF State campus.
