Pioneer Men's Golf Selected for Upcoming NCAA South Central/West Regional

INDIANAPOLIS - The NCAA announced on Friday the 80 teams and 32 individual student-athletes who were selected to compete in their respective regionals for the 2024 NCAA Division II Men's Golf Championships. Cal State East Bay men's golf received an at-large bid to play in the South Central/West Regional on May 9-11. The regional tournament will take place at New Mexico State University Golf Course in Las Cruces, New Mexico.

The Pioneers are the No. 3 seed in the West Region who will compete in a paired regional tournament field that includes 20 teams and eight individual golfers from the two regions who were not on selected teams.

The top five teams in each regional (four regional tournaments in total), along with two individual golfers on non-advancing teams in each regional, move on to play in the 2024 NCAA Division II National Championships on May 21-25 in Winter Garden, Florida.

In 2023, the Pioneers did not qualify as a team for the NCAA Division II South Central/West Regional, but two individuals from the team were selected to compete, including Xavier Coreno and Easton Hether. The last full team selection for CSUEB was in 2022.

Cal State East Bay is coming off the 2024 CCAA Championships presented by Under Armour in which it finished fourth among eight teams. Seven of the eight CCAA men's golf teams were selected for the regional tournament in addition to one individual golfer from Cal State Dominguez Hills.
