Pioneer Men's Basketball falls to Sonoma State on Saturday
HAYWARD, Calif. – Cal State East Bay men's basketball hosted Sonoma State on Saturday evening and lost 85-72 inside Pioneer Gymnasium.

No lead in the first half was larger than seven points, including the 13:09 mark when Sonoma State led 16-9. The Pioneers answered with an 8-0 run, capped off by a three-pointer from Ramsey Huff at the 10:35 mark. Both teams battled to a 29-29 tie at the 5:15 mark. Then, the Seawolves finished off the half with an 8-2 run for a 37-31 halftime lead.
The second half was within single digit reach for the Pioneers until a three-pointer by Julian Bryant gave Sonoma a double digit lead of 48-38. For a majority of the game's remainder, the lead was double digits. The Pioneers were able to cut the deficit to as little as seven points, as late as the 4:06 mark on a basket by Daeshawn Eaton, but the Seawolves pulled away and finished with an 85-72 win.
