Pioneer Men’s Basketball Wins 90-62 Over SF State on Senior Night
HAYWARD, Calif. – To wrap up the 2023-24 regular season, Cal State East Bay men's basketball hosted San Francisco State at Pioneer Gymnasium on Thursday. The Pioneers led most of the way, as they won 90-62 over the visiting Gators to celebrate Senior Night.

The Pioneers started the game on a 6-0 run, but the Gators came back and the game was tied at the 15:34 mark of the first half.
After the game was tied 8-8, the Pioneers went on a 14-3 run, capped by a pair of Dimitrios Klonaras free throws with 10:39 left in the half to lead 22-11. The Pioneers would gain their largest lead of the half at 16 points, at 30-14, on a Daeshawn Eaton 3-pointer with 5:37 left in the half. Cal State East Bay led 40-25 at halftime.
In the second half, the Pioneers built on to their advantage, as much as 52-30, on a 3-pointer by Klonaras with 16:11 left. The Gators would come as close as 16 in the second half, but the Pioneers pulled away late to finish with a 90-62 victory.

- Klonaras scored a game-high 25 points to lead the Pioneers as he went 8-for-14 from the floor and 6-for-6 from the free throw line in his final home game with CSUEB. His 10 rebounds earned him a double double. Defensively, Klonaras also had a block and four steals.
- Also scoring in double figures for the Pioneers were Grady Lewis with 15 points and Eaton and Chris James with 11 each.
- Julian Lopez, who has been with Cal State East Bay men's basketball since 2018, made three baskets from beyond the arc in his final home game with the Pioneers.
- Thursday's game was the final home game for Eaton, Kevin Ebiriekwe, James, Klonaras and Lopez.
- John Bakke had a team-high 17 points for the Gators. Grady Lewis had 15 and Eaton and Chris James had eleven apiece in the victory.
- CSUEB had a 37-35 rebounding edge.
