Pioneer Baseball Drops Final Game of Home Series on Sunday
HAYWARD, Calif. — In the final game of a CCAA series, the Cal State East Bay baseball team was unable to overcome an early deficit, falling 7-3 to visiting Cal State LA on Sunday afternoon at Pioneer Baseball Field.

GAME SUMMARY |
After Cal State LA struck in the opening frame on an error-assisted run and Alberto Prado's RBI single, the visitors padded their lead in the third. With two runners on, Prado launched a three-run homer to left center to make it 5-0.
Cal State East Bay responded with runs in the sixth, seventh, and ninth innings. Jacob Klinovsky drew a walk in the sixth and scored on a sharp RBI single up the middle by Jaylen Hodges. In the seventh, Dominick Najar singled and later came around to score on a sacrifice fly by Luke Brown.
Aidan Morton provided the final highlight for the Pioneers as a pinch hitter, blasting his third home run of the season over the left field wall to lead off the ninth.
Despite getting runners aboard in each of the final three innings, the Pioneers were unable to convert with runners in scoring position, stranding the bases loaded in the ninth after cutting the deficit to four.
