GREENSBORO, N.C. - The American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) announced its regional recipients for the ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Division II All-Region Teams for 2025. Named to the Second Team for the West Region was Cal State East Bay pitcher Max Gonzales, who now has four postseason honors for his outstanding season on the mound for the Pioneers.
Gonzales led the CCAA with the lowest earned run average among qualifying pitchers at 2.70 and had a 6-4 record on the mound. His 67 strikeouts in 80 innings pitched was sixth most in the CCAA. During the season, Gonzales was named CCAA Pitcher of the Week for March 31-April 6. For the same week, he was named NCBWA West Region Pitcher of the Week following a complete game five-hit shutout against Cal State LA.
Already, Gonzales has three other postseason awards in 2025, including D2 CCA All-West Region First Team, Second Team NCBWA West All-Region and First Team All-CCAA.
