GAME SUMMARY

The Pioneers jumped ahead early behind Camron Grant's first home run in a Cal State East Bay uniform, a two-run shot in the bottom of the first inning that also plated Danelle Daniels for a 2-0 lead.

After Cal State LA tied the game in the second on two unearned runs, East Bay responded in the fourth when Aidan Morton doubled and scored on a Jaylen Hodges single, giving the home side a 3-2 lead.

After both teams traded runs in the sixth—including Luke Brown's fourth homer of the season—the game tilted in Cal State LA's favor for good. The Golden Eagles erupted for three runs in the seventh, highlighted by RBI singles from Cesar Chavez and Javy Espinoza.

Dominick Najar sparked a rally in the bottom of the seventh with a bunt single followed by two stolen bases—his 12th and 13th of the year—to set up Brown's RBI single. However, Cal State East Bay was held scoreless the rest of the way.

CSULA added three more in the eighth and four in the ninth to seal the 13-5 win.
