The left-handed reliever, who helped the Los Angeles Dodgers clinch the 2024 World Series, traces his roots back to his days on the mound at Cal State East Bay.
Vesia earned a spot in the starting rotation as a freshman. In his senior season with the Pioneers (2018), he made seven starts, appearing on the mound 14 times with 78.2 innings pitched for an 8-2 record and a 1.94 ERA. He won multiple postseason awards such as ABCA/Rawlings All-West Region First Team (2018), NCBWA All-West Region Honorable Mention (2018), All-CCAA First Team (2018), All-CCAA Second Team (2016) and All-CCAA Honorable Mention (2015).
Vesia's success has put a spotlight on Cal State East Bay's baseball program. He remains connected to his alma mater, often inviting former teammates and coaches to games and sharing his experiences with current players.
