CSUEB Men's Cross Country Places Sixth at CCAA Championships

FREMONT, Calif. – At Quarry Lakes Regional Recreation Area on Saturday morning, Cal State East Bay hosted the 2023 CCAA Cross Country Championships. CSUEB Men's Cross Country placed sixth in team scoring. 
 
Leading the Pioneers was Cole McKain, who placed seventh in the men's 8k with a time of 25 minutes, 7.2 seconds. By placing seventh, McKain earned a place on the CCAA All-Conference Team, which was the third year in a row in which he has picked up that honor. 

Rounding out the top five finishers for the Pioneers in the 2023 CCAA Championships were Chas O'Bear (26:32.0 - 40th place), Matthew Morgon (26:43.8 - 46th place), Isaac Tiscareno (27:02.6 - 55th place and Miles Worthen (27:08.6 - 57th place). 

Winning the CCAA team championship was Chico State for the 21st consecutive year. Winning the individual medal was Dylan White from Chico State with a time of 24:41.9. 
 
Next up for the Pioneers will be the NCAA Division II West Regionals on November 4 at Ash Creek Preserve in Monmouth, Oregon. Start time for the men's 10k is set for 11:15 a.m. Select members of the Cal State East Bay men's cross country team will compete in the postseason event.
